Fischione Instruments is seeking a full-time electromechanical assembly technician at our manufacturing facility located in Export, PA. The successful candidate will be responsible for the electrical and mechanical assembly of our laboratory and specimen preparation products.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble products from drawings, schematics, sketches, wiring diagrams, procedures, and verbal and written instructions
  • Use hand tools, electrical and mechanical test/repair equipment, as well as specialty tools, jigs, and fixtures
  • Work to extreme tolerances and small-scale components.
  • Perform highly complex assembly and testing processes and troubleshooting
  • Inspect and test assemblies
  • Document all assembly work performed

Qualifications and requirements

  • Tech school certificate or assembly experience within a technology manufacturing environment can be a plus for this entry-level position
  • Knowledge of vacuum systems, vacuum components, helium leak testing, and the use and handling of compressed gases is considered a plus
  • Basic computer understanding and proficiency, including MS Office, and the ability to learn additional tools
  • Above average math skills, as well as the ability to measure and calculate precisely
  • Ability to think methodically, prioritize, and follow up on multiple tasks
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently or on a small team

Physical requirements

  • Regularly required to: stand, walk, sit (sometimes for extended periods); use hands and fingers; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear, and see
  • Observe, feel, and handle small objects
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include: close vision; distance vision; color vision; peripheral vision; depth perception; the ability to adjust focus; perform some tasks while using a stereo or digital microscope
  • May be required to wear special personal protective equipment and work inside a Class 1000 cleanroom
  • Must have the ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have reliable transportation and be able to pass a background check and a drug test

Working hours

  • Occasional overtime; sometimes on the weekend, sometimes on short notice
