Description
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong project management experience to lead the design, development, and execution of complex engineering projects. This role combines advanced technical expertise with leadership responsibilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with quality and safety standards. The ideal candidate will serve as a technical leader, mentor engineering staff, and coordinate cross-functional teams throughout the project lifecycle.

Core Responsibiities:
  • Plan, schedule, and conduct technical work as the mechanical lead on assigned projects
  • Scientific instrument design development (creating models and drawings, conducting theoretical analysis)
  • Develop engineering calculations, specifications, drawings, and technical documentation
  • Technical leader who can mentor engineering staff through cross functional design reviews
  • Lead design, analysis, testing and implementation of new and existing products
  • Partner with manufacturing production teams to ensure cost-effective manufacturability
  • Review, mentor and collaborate with engineering technicians on initial development builds
  • Provide technical support to production for product evaluations and production ramp-up
  • Utilized program management disciplines to keep projection on-time and within budget using program management disciplines
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering (bachelor’s degree plus 7 years’ experience in lieu of master’s degree)
  • 5+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience
  • Detail oriented with excellent problem-solving, organization and communication skills
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks, including geometrical dimensioning and tolerancing
  • Solid understanding of dynamics, kinematics, material selection, heat transfer, thermodynamics, and vibrations
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma or other Continuous Improvement methodologies
  • Experience working in electromechanical, robotics, embedded software and precision mechanics
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred)
