As the industry leader, Fischione Instruments maintains an extensive portfolio of existing products, focuses on innovation, and continuously develops new products for emerging applications and markets.  We are currently seeking a candidate for Embedded Systems Software Engineer to join our team.

Responsibilities:

  • The primary function of this position is to develop control systems for Fischione’s advanced nanotechnology products. This will involve working in the areas of hardware interfacing, motion control, vacuum technology, video and imaging devices, user interfaces, equipment interfacing, and more.
  • Develop software for new products and product features, as well as supporting existing products
  • Work within the complete software development lifecycle (SDLC), including software specification, design, implementation, debugging, testing, and documentation
  • Ability to focus on the details and apply technical expertise to product requirements
  • Some travel may very occasionally be necessary for product startup.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant and successful software development experience within the areas of embedded real-time control, electronics interface, network communication
  • Demonstrable proficiency in C/C++ for real-time applications
  • Experience developing software for Linux on ARM and x86, and for MS Windows. Cross-platform development experience is a plus.
  • Experience developing user interfaces using Qt and C++ is a big plus.
  • Linux kernel and device driver experience is a plus.
